Raised on the streets of Vallejo, CA, CJ's youth was filled with violence and drugs, and by 21, he was incarcerated for illegal possession, interstate trafficking, and firearms violations. While in prison, CJ began to study the Bible and now dedicates his life to serving God and sharing the message of His grace.  

As an independent hip-hop artist, CJ Emulous has sold over 10,000 units in California alone and he has shared the stage with artists like Flame and Keisha Cole.  His debut Dasouth release is based on the scripture found in Romans 8:13:  “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if you put to death the misdeeds of the flesh you will live.”
